Cambridgeshire Regional College and the John Lewis Partnership
Many of the staff undertaking their ITQ have been working for the partnership for a long period of time typically 25 and 30 years. For this reason they have not taken part in training or examinations leading to qualifications. Therefore the methodology of this training has also attracted them to the qualification, as they do not have to attend a training organisation or college to complete the course. Moreover, having the facilities in the workplace means there is no inconvenience or time wasted travelling to the college. The training time allocated to them is fully utilised and of meaning as it is work related.
Assessors now visit the stores each week and have various levels of active learners progressing through the course. On each visit the staff and training room are made available so that any issue that have arisen can be solved, evidence can be gathered and observations and training can be carried out.
