Why do we need the SFIA Profiler?

Research conducted by e-skills UK indicates that many employers are daunted by the complex and sometimes challenging task of skills gap assessment within the IT Professional arena.

The e-skills UK's SFIA Profiler is designed to address this issue by exploiting the benefits of the SFIA language through a fast start service.

What is the Profiler?

The e-skills UK SFIA Profiler service has been developed to provide an easy access online service with optional consultancy support for employers wishing to deploy the now established Skills Framework for the Age (SFIA) within their organisation. The SFIA Profiler is a light touch, fast-start skills assessment tool that supports the latest SFIA version 3.

The SFIA Profiler allows employers to:

• Implement the latest version of SFIA for IT Professional skills assessment.
• Create specific job roles using the SFIA language.
• Conduct skills gap analysis to identify 'actual' versus 'required' employee skills.
• Generate a suite of management reports to inform organisational and individual skills development.

The SFIA Profiler will help employers to:

• Improve IT Professionals' productivity by identifying organisational skills gaps.
• Enable managers to make active choices about IT Professionals' skill development based on business needs and priorities
