How to find a Training Provider

A few guidelines on engaging a Training Provider

  • Ask for references and follow them up.
  • Are they easy to get hold of?
  • Do they reply to messages, or respond in the promised timeframe?
  • Check their ALI report, if one is available, see www.ali.gov.uk or for colleges, www.ofsted.gov.uk
  • If a limited company you can check their accounts, www.companieshouse.gov.uk, or get a credit reference.
  • Do they have qualified trainers and assessors to carry out the courses you want?
  • Do they have a quality standard, IiP or ISO?
  • Are all charges inclusive, no hidden extras, such as administration, or VAT on top?
  • What procedures do they have for reporting back to you? On a monthly basis?
  • Look at and check the materials and handouts they use.
