Computer Clubs for Girls (CC4G)
The award winning Computer Clubs for Girls (CC4G) continues to be rolled out to schools nationally. By 2008, the aim is to positively change the attitudes of the 150,000 girls who will have been involved in CC4G girls are being targeted because only a fifth of the current IT workforce is female. By getting them interested early and educating them about the growing diversity of applications for technology, the hope is to encourage more girls to consider careers in IT.
CC4G gives girls aged 10-14 the opportunity to take part in a wide range of activities from designing their own celebrity posters or magazine covers, creating a fashion show or mixing music.
