NOS Consultation
e-skills UK is seeking feedback on the revisions proposed for the National Occupational Standards (NOS) relating to Users of Information Technology. These revisions are based on the invaluable input received so far through the consultation website and initial consultation events last November.
This consultation is crucial as these Standards define the levels of IT skills relevant both for the workforce and those seeking employment. They underpin the majority of IT user qualifications and government funded IT User training. Making them sufficiently comprehensive and ensuring they address the right skills means better IT skills for all and a better workforce for businesses.
TATA consultancy Services will be hosting the Welsh employer consultation on the 24th September between 10.00am and 12.30pm. A map is attached along with the agenda. Please inform Peter Sishton if you would like to attend.
The full draft of the revised National Occupational Standards can be viewed online at http://nos2008.e-skills.com until 26 September 2008.
If you are unable to attend in person you can contribute in two ways:
- Via an online consultation at www.e-skills.com/NOSsurvey. This consultation will take around 30 minutes and you can comment on as many or as few of the Standards as you wish.
- Comment directly on the detail of the Standards at http://nos2008.e-skills.com .
With the right standards we can help ensure people have the right IT skills to make the most of the opportunities that technology offers for their work and leisure. Please take part.
