Contact Centres Special Interest Group
Purpose and objectives
The purpose of the Contact Centre Special Interest Group (SIG) is to provide a forum for:
- Dissemination of information on Contact Centre matters across the network
- Defining collective action where appropriate
- Ensuring that standards, qualification and frameworks continue to meet the needs of contact centres across sectors
Context
e-skills UK is the Sector Skills Council for IT and Telecoms and also act as the Lead Body for Contact Centres on behalf of the Skills for Business Network. In addition to responsibility for the workforce in outsourced Contact Centres and the IT & Telecoms sector itself, e-skills UK has responsibility for Contact Centre National Occupational Standards, Qualifications and Apprenticeship Frameworks.
The Contact Centres SIG meets twice a year.
Members
The Contact Centre SIG is open to representatives of Sector Skills Councils with a particular interest in skills development for Contact Centre staff. Representatives from other organisations may also be invited to attend the SIG as appropriate.
Members currently include representatives from e-skills UK and other Sector Skills Councils - Financial Services Skills Council, Government Skills and Skillsmart Retail.
