Diploma in IT FAQs
Your questions answered
Preparing for delivery
The Diploma in IT is substantially different from current IT provision in schools. It is focused on IT professional (rather than IT user) related competencies, and it requires an integration of business and technology not generally found in the 14-19 arena.
Workforce development partners such as the SSAT and QIA have the lead in helping consortia prepare for delivery, including developing teaching & learning resources and providing upskilling opportunities for staff.
The Diploma Development Partnership will support the workforce development partners by providing, in particular, subject matter expertise and enabling employer contribution.
It is critical that each consortia have access to the necessary support as they move forward. Information regarding the Gateway process, next steps and support available for consortia can be found on the DCSF website at www.dcsf.gov.uk/14-19.
