Higher education institutions
The Advanced Diploma is equivalent in size and achievement to 3.5 A levels. The Diploma in IT sets out to:
- Provide an academically rigorous, high quality education with up to date learning on leading-edge subject matter;
- Ensure a minimum, consistently high standard of English and Maths appropriate for entry on to demanding degree courses;
- Develop Personal, Learning and Thinking Skills that improve a student’s capacity in Higher Education, including critical analysis and problem solving, creative thinking and reflective learning;
- Offer a programme able to satisfy or exceed entry requirements to all technology-related, and many other, degree courses;
- Increase the flow of students into technology-related degree courses
The Diploma in IT will provide a new route for young people to progress to university. The Diploma Development Partnership is working with HEIs to ensure that the qualification design will meet their needs.
