Gateway 1 for delivery in 2008

The Gateway process has now identified those consortia (groups of schools, colleges and training providers) ready to deliver the Diploma in 2008. This decision has been based on consortia's evidence to support specific delivery, following the readiness criteria outlined in the Gateway Guidance document published by the DCSF and additional guidance published specifically for the Diploma in IT.

144 consortia have been approved to offer Diploma courses, from 2008, in construction and the built environment, engineering, health, society and development, IT, and creative and media. 44 consortia have been approved to offer the Diploma in IT from 2008.

Central funding will help regional consortia to work up the detail of the new qualifications in each area, with £30,000 for each consortium that will offer Diplomas in 2008.
