Vital involvement from employers...

The Diploma in IT is designed to reflect the needs of a fast-moving industry.

For the first time, employers have been put in the driving seat for qualification development. e-skills UK consulted over 600 businesses large and small, to build a comprehensive picture of employer needs.

This research revealed that businesses require technology professionals with roughly equal emphasis on three key competencies:

  • business,
  • interpersonal and
  • technical.

The Diploma in IT has been designed to meet this requirement. Find out more in our comprehensive research document [PDF, 425kb].

In terms of qualification development, an Employer Steering Group ensures that employers have an ongoing and influential voice.

The Diploma in IT launches September 2008 and there are many ways in which you, as an employer, can support this important new qualification.
