Introducing ITQ

How to find a training provider

Whilst we cannot recommend a particular provider, there are some general points to consider in selecting the right provider for your ITQ.

  • Ask for references from other companies they have worked with on ITQ and follow them up.
  • Are they easy to get hold of? Do they reply to messages, or respond in the promised timeframe?
  • Check their ALI inspection report, if one is available. See www.ali.gov.uk or for colleges, www.ofsted.gov.uk
  • If they are a limited company you can check their accounts, www.companieshouse.gov.uk,  or get a credit reference.
  • Do they have sufficient qualified trainers and assessors for ITQ?
  • Do they have a quality standard, IiP or ISO?
  • Are all the charges inclusive, no hidden extras, such as administration, or VAT on top?
  • What procedures do they have for reporting back to you? On a weekly or monthly basis?
  • Are they using the e-skills Passport to assist in understanding existing skills and planning ITQ?
  • Look at and check the materials and handouts they use. Do they cater for a variety of learning and assessment styles?
  • Will they visit candidates regularly?
  • Do they offer an e-portfolio option?
