Want a career in IT?
Start with a Higher Apprenticeship
If you want an exciting and rewarding career in IT, Higher Apprenticeships are a new way to get the experience and qualifications you need, while earning a salary. They’re ideal for school and college leavers aged 18 or over.
IT Higher Apprenticeships – the basics
You’ll be employed by an organisation that has technology at its heart, but also train for recognised qualifications. From day one, you’ll use your new skills to tackle real business tasks in the workplace.
Because IT Higher Apprenticeships have been designed by e-skills UK and are endorsed by Government and major organisations, they give you the experience and qualifications employers want today.
So, once your Apprenticeship is complete, you’ll be on the road to a successful IT career – Apprentices earn, on average, £100,000 more over their working lives than those who only have A levels.
NEW - watch our 2013 video featuring 4 young people in the process of completing their IT Higher Apprenticeships with Capgemini, IBM and Spedi. Find out why they chose the route they did, what they’ve learnt so far and what their hopes are for the future

How to apply
Most IT Higher Apprenticeships require 5 GCSEs (including Maths and English) and 2 A levels at grades A* to C or equivalent qualifications. You can also progress to a Higher Apprenticeship from an Advanced Apprenticeship.
