Employers to demonstrate the 'Business Case for IT' investment

Five Sector Skills Councils (SSCs): ConstructionSkills, LANTRA, SEMTA, Skillfast-UK and Skillset, have recently embarked on a joint project to establish the business case for IT investment with the support of e-skills UK. The project seeks to establish ?the compelling reason to act?, demonstrating the case for the exploitation of IT through practical case study examples in the five target sectors. These examples will show relevant, inspiring stories of companies realising business benefit from investment in IT and in skills in its use.

Help and support for IT investment come from a number of sources, but the motivating factors often come from a desire to increase competitiveness and productivity. Case study examples from comparable businesses in terms of size, sector or geographic location may provide the impetus for seeking that support.

We would welcome your help to showcase employers who have implemented IT and/or IT training solutions and can actually demonstrate the business benefits they have gained. We are particularly interested in identifying companies from the target sectors of:

  • Construction
  • Environmental and Land-based sector (including farming, agriculture, forestry & rural development)
  • Science, Engineering and Manufacturing Technologies
  • Apparel, Footwear and Textiles Industry
  • Audio Visual industries (broadcast, film, video and interactive media)
