Computer Clubs for Girls Launch at the Scottish Parliament
e-skills UK is proud to announce the launch of the award winning Computer Clubs for Girls (CC4G) programme at the Scottish Parliament on Wednesday 22nd March.
The event will celebrate the rollout of CC4G to all the secondary schools in the Fife region, following a successful pilot, and will explore ways to rollout the benefits of the programme across Scotland.
This launch will demonstrate the measurable benefits of CC4G to education and the Scottish economy. CC4G is transforming the attitudes of schoolgirls to positively consider a career in technology – a vital change needed to address the gender imbalance of the IT workforce.
We are delighted that guests, including Peter Peacock, MSP and Minister for Education and Young People; Ann Budge, CEO of Sopra, Newell and Budge; Christine May, MSP and Kenneth Greer, Head of Education at Fife Council, have agreed to join us. Most importantly, girls from the Fife Clubs will be presenting their own impressions of the innovative e-learning courseware and how they have been inspired to use IT in creative projects.
Due to high demand for this event, places are strictly limited to invitation only.
