The Sector Skills Agreement for IT - what does it mean for the South East?

This Event is now fully booked! Any further bookings received will go on to a waiting list.

e-skills UK is inviting employers, education, training providers and other stakeholders to explore how the Sector Skills Agreement benefits the South East region, at a South East of England Development Agency (SEEDA) sponsored event, on 30th June 2005 at the MWB Business Exchange, Bracknell.

In a few weeks time, e-skills UK will be announcing the 'Sector Skills Agreement' for IT. This sets out a radical new national agreement bringing together employers, education, training providers and other stakeholders to develop the UK's IT skills landscape over the next 3 years.

Employers in this sector have committed to spending ?2.4 billion on employee training over the next three years. The Sector Skills Agreement for IT details the far reaching changes in education that employers would like to see implemented to ensure that students enter the workforce with the IT related skills they need and have access to high quality learning provision to keep their skills constantly updated.

The event will include a key note presentation from e-skills UK on the Sector Skills Agreement for IT and a response from SEEDA on the opportunity this presents. Most importantly, the event will provide a unique opportunity for employers, education, training providers and other stakeholders to take part in breakout group sessions, to focus on a series of 'collaborative programmes' that will make a real difference to the region.

This event will be your chance to find out about the range of exciting activities that will be taking place in the region and ensure that you and your organisation are involved in making it happen.

Places are limited, so please book your place now, by e-mailing steph.stapley@e-skills.com, putting 'SSA for IT in South East event' as the subject title. We will confirm your booking within two weeks and provide details of the day and how to find the venue.
