Intellect Women in IT Forum Meeting - 'Best Practice for Managers'

14:00 registration, 14:30 - 16:30 meeting, followed by cheese & wine The Catalyst Group Room, Intellect Conference Suite, Russell Square House, 10-12 Russell Square, London WC1B 5EE

Guest Speaker: Meg Munn MP, DTI and Indra Morris, Accenture (confirmed).  Annette Williams, UK Resource Centre for Women in SET (Confirmed), Further speakers will be confirmed shortly

The Chartered Management Institute survey in 2005 stated that although the number of women in management roles has trebled in 10 years with 31.1% of the nation's 4.5m managers being women, they are still paid less than men in equivalent positions and are more likely to resign from their jobs.

This poses a number of challenges for managers such as what can they do to alleviate the situation?  How can you better understand the motivations of your team? How can you use different styles of management to improve your career prospects and those of your team?

The first Forum meeting of 2006 will examine both the benefits to managers and to their businesses in having a better gender-balanced workforce.  It will give practical advice and case studies on how to understand your workforce, the different skills required in managing a diverse team, improving staff morale and business through diversity policies and how the Government is working to encourage diverse companies.

Please note it may be necessary to limit attendance to two representatives per organisation. If having booked you find you are unable to attend, it would be appreciated if you could let the organisers know so that your place can be reallocated.
