Exceptional Programme Manager needed to implement SSA for IT: Action Plan Wales 2006-2008
As the government licensed Sector Skills Council for IT and Telecoms, e-skills UK works in partnerships with employers and stakeholders to develop, and then deliver on, the strategy to address IT skills needs across the UK. In Wales, this strategy is embodied in the Sector Skills Agreement (SSA) for IT.
e-skills UK wishes to recruit a Welsh based Programme Manager who will play a key role in coordinating the delivery of the SSA for IT in Wales, working closely with employers and stakeholders to deliver on this challenging agenda.
Responsibilities include:
- Coordinating the delivery of the SSA for IT: Action Plan Wales 2006-2008
- Developing external relationships at the highest level with key SSA for IT partners including employers and stakeholders – not only to assist in the delivery of the SSA but also with a view to ensuring the future sustainability of e-skills UK’s work in Wales
- Becoming an “expert” on the SSA for IT in Wales and ensuring its alignment to e-skills UK’s agreed strategic objectives
- Looking for opportunities to integrate e-skills UK products and services within the training and development infrastructure in Wales
- Acting as the single point of contact for selected e-skills UK strategic partners in Wales
Skills and Experience
- You will be happy developing and managing relationships at the very highest levels in both public and private sector organisations in Wales.
- You will be able to assimilate information quickly and effectively in order to align e-skills UK strategy with the IT related skills needs of Wales.
- You will have experience of working with partners through the entire project life cycle (including writing tenders and proposals, delivering projects as an individual and as part of a team and reporting your activity both to internal and external customers),
- You will have excellent presentation skills and the ability to succinctly communicate complex and often intangible messages.
- You will be able to deliver projects on time and to budget, have excellent time management skills and be able to use IT as an aid to your productivity and performance.
You will be expected to have a ‘can do’ attitude in order to fit into a hard working, open and collaborative team culture. Occasional travel to e-skills UK’s London office is expected.
