SFIA Skills Management Conference 2006 - book now!

Book now for the 2006 SFIA (Skills Framework for the Information Age) Skills Management Conference which will take place on Thursday 9 November at the DTI Conference Centre, London. The Conference, this year, has the theme of Underwriting Professionalism, recognising SFIA's key role in the professionalism agenda.

More than just SFIA

SFIA is now widely used in industry and Government – both Central and Local. The SFIA annual conference has attracted large numbers of people who recognise the business value of appropriate Skills Management.

The launch of the ProfIT (Professionalism in IT) agenda has further heightened interest in skills management, and has confirmed the importance of SFIA, which is now the standard reference point for IT professional skills. People building skills management practices regard SFIA as the prime source of skills information for their role profiles or job descriptions: the foundations of their skills-related processes.

Programme

The conference focuses on SFIA users' experience – not just their implementations of SFIA, but their wider achievements in skills management. The programme includes a keynote speech from John Higgins, Director General of Intellect, the software and services supplier's organisation. Other speakers include John Suffolk, Government CIO, Paul Briggs from Norwich Union Life and speakers from BAE Systems, PA Consulting and other organisations. Full details are in the conference programme.

Exhibition

There is an exhibition of products and service directly related to SFIA. Exhibitors will be InfoBasis, PA Consulting, InterQuad Training, IKM TechChek, Parity Training, CELRE, e skills UK, IET, BCS and IMIS.

Booking

The conference is free of charge, but spaces are limited to 300. Book online now at www.imis.org.uk/about/sfia/2006conference.
