Funding secured for next generation CC4G
e-skills UK's CC4G programme will continue to transform the attitudes of young people to technology, thanks to a new contract signed with Becta, the government agency responsible for the use of technology in schools.
Karen Price, CEO at e-skills UK says: "Over the last three years, more than 125,000 girls in over 3,600 schools have benefited from CC4G. As well as our original objective of encouraging a positive attitude towards technology-related careers, CC4G has had a marked effect on girls’ performance in both ICT and across the wider curriculum. We are delighted to be able to continue this good work, with the support of Becta."
The new funding will enable investment in the CC4G website and learning content, with the 'next generation' of CC4G due to be launched in England in the Autumn. Learning activities to inspire 10–14 year olds about technology will be mapped against the national curriculum to support both extra-curricular clubs and curriculum activities.
e-skills UK would like to thank both the Department for Children, Schools and Families and the South East England Development Agency for the funding and support provided during the past three years.
