Schools workshops

Experience IT Chances - year 10 and 11

The interactive one day workshops are either hosted by the university or employer and aim to give pupils in year 10 and 11 an insight into university life and a career in the technology sector.

Typically a group of 10 students plus accompanying teachers from each of four schools will attend each workshop. This allows both the students and teachers the opportunity to meet and work with new people. The number of students may vary depending on the available space.

Free of charge for the school

The only cost for schools are travelling to and from the employer's premises and paying for the teachers to accompany the pupils.

No preparatory work is required and the workshop is facilitated jointly by GTI Publishing, e-skills UK, the participating university and employer.

Tailor made with the university and employer

The participating university and employer each receive a resource pack containing all the information required to plan a successful workshop. The projects within the workshop can also be tailored to the requirements of both the university and employer.
