e-skills UK works with companies including BT, Orange, O2, Fujitsu, EDS and telent, to operate specific initiatives to promote Apprenticeship uptake. This includes hosting an employer forum to share best practice and participate in the ongoing development of apprenticeship frameworks.

Higher Apprenticeships
e-skills UK plans to streamline work-based IT professional skills development programmes. The new approach will incorporate all existing levels of Apprenticeships and work-based degree schemes into a flexible, work-based 'Higher Apprenticeship'. Employers of IT professionals will be able to support employees up to Foundation and Honours degree level and beyond, through an integrated development package. e-skills UK is supporting organisations such as EDS and BT who are pioneering Higher Apprenticeship-based programmes.

e-skills UK is the lead body for Contact Centres within the Skills for Business Network, with responsibility for Outsourced Contact Centres and for standards, qualifications and frameworks for Contact Centres.
