e-skills Passport
Free e-skills Passports for CC4G Facilitators
How are your IT skills?
e-skills UK, creator of CC4G, are offering CC4G facilitators a unique, free opportunity to support their own Continued Professional Development (CPD). Using e-skills Passport, you can check your IT skills against a generic teacher IT skills profile, designed in consultation with schools.
The simple online self-assessment, taking about 10 minutes to complete, will help you identify additional IT skills that could help you teach even more effectively. You can then use this information to request IT training from your school – you may even be able to obtain a qualification, proving you have the skills to use IT effectively in teaching.
How to get started
- Send us an email with CC4G Facilitator IT Skills in the title (make sure you include your name and school in the email)
- Within 2 working days you will receive an e-skills Passport welcome email
- Follow the instructions to register your e-skills Passport
- Complete the self-assessment and use the e-skills Passport features to identify where learning would be of benefit to you
- Approach your school to see if they will help you to bridge your skills gaps with formal learning
- Make sure any formal learning undertaken is recorded in your e-skills Passport so that you can see how it counts towards a qualification
What next?
Perhaps your school would like to use the e-skills Passport service more widely to gain an indication of skills gaps and training needs of teachers across the whole school.
The full e-skills Passport system comes with access to a management and administration area called e-skills Passport Office. From here, your school can manage the learning journeys of all teachers at your school and run reports to identify key areas for skills improvement.
e-skills Passport can even be used to assess and plan progress towards non-IT related skills such as teaching methodologies, time management and team working.
