Today, the IT & Telecoms industry contributes 5% of Scotland’s total Gross Value Added (GVA). Optimisation of ICT could generate an additional £5.0 billion GVA across Scotland’s economy over the next 5-7 years.

The IT & Telecoms industry contributes 5% of Wales’s Gross Value Added (£1.2 billion). In Wales the number of applicants to computing degree courses has gradually been increasing since 2004, but is yet to reach the 2002 figure of 815.

The Games Development Sector report is based upon the information provided by over 300 Games development studios based in the UK, France, Canada and the USA. It  finds  the overall outlook of Games studios in the UK to be very positive, with around two thirds of employers responding to e-skills UK’s survey forecasting a rise in turnover and company profitability over the coming twelve months.
